Rita Barney is ANYTHING, but your average midlifer. Imagine a woman who wakes up one day, sees an ad on tv for Culinary School, figures since all three of her children have left home, why not, and starts the year-long program the very next day on a whim.

Few people in the world possess this kind of zest and live each day for the moment as a lifestyle, especially as things can sometimes get more mundane with age. Rita is the walking, talking fireball with passion, heart, and an armful of tattoos (collected later in life!), that makes the rest of us look at her in awe.

That’s why we are spending time with her today to talk about how exactly does she do it!? Rita’s life may have started seemingly average, but she has lived anything but.

The previous owner of hair salons, an Inn that she restored and ran as a Bed and Breakfast, going to Culinary School around the age of 50, opening her first restaurant after graduating, and finally settling into her pride and joy - owning Cafe’ Paradee in Oklahoma - This woman has done it all! And she does so with laughter and smiles.

Rita takes us through her adventures, explains why her cafe’ won Best Coffee and how she supports the very farmers growing the beans to make everything full circle.

She also talks about personal life issues and how to overcome them and come out swinging. And if all of that wasn’t enough, she has started a support group for women to come and connect hearts and release their deepest thoughts and hurts. You do not want to miss this episode!
