It’s a sad fact that many people spend their lives in a state of ‘making do,’ only to be full of regret and what-ifs later. But, those what-ifs might be just what you need right now to start considering the power of choice so that you can learn to say no and take back control of your life and happiness.

Questioning our capabilities and worthiness of being, doing, and receiving more has become a common mindset, but it’s one that my guest today seeks to stamp out.  It took a near-death experience and then a ton of personal development for her to realize just what her priorities were and what they should be.

As Vonne Jacobs lay in her bed, trying to will herself up to go to a job that drained her physically, emotionally, and mentally, her heart took one last attempt at sending her the message she needed. Vonne was rushed to the hospital, where her heart had to be medically stopped and restarted.

Isn’t that the most potent metaphor ever for a new beginning of life? A recent shot at getting it right.

And that’s precisely what Vonne did.

As a successful healthcare attorney, Vonne was a strong and determined woman. Still, like so many of us, she didn’t place enough value on herself to set healthy boundaries, to advocate for herself, or to pursue what truly made her happy instead of what she thought she ‘should’ be doing.

Join us for today’s episode to hear how Vonne took that life or death situation and used to connect with herself on a level that many of us deny. Vonne has learned that in not making a stand for yourself, you allow others to disrespect you. She’s here to ask you, “when are you going to love yourself enough to say “no”?”
